柱面微透镜阵列主要用于均匀化各种光源，其中包括激光或高功率LED。有别于形成点模式的矩形微透镜阵列，柱面微透镜会产生非高斯型的线性模式，适用于焊、钻或激光烧蚀应用，范围从UV到IR。另外，这些透镜还能用作为快轴准直器。
